App Management

An “App” describes the collection of content, and the overall functionality of that content that will be sent to a PC/Device through the eScreenz software.  Apps are the “entry point” for eScreenz content.

Apps contain the following:

  • The type of content that will be published (e.g., a Screensaver, a collection of similar Digital Signs, a Kiosk App, etc.)
  • The content that is published (the slides within a slideshow, or the pages of a kiosk app)
  • The layout of the published content (e.g., display the slideshow in the middle of the screen, and ticker messages across the bottom)
  • The users or devices that receive the content (e.g., assign the Lobby Digital Signage app to all displays in the customer-facing lobby, and assign the Screensaver app to all employee workstations).
  • The users on the eScreenz dashboard who are allowed to publish new content to the app (e.g., restrict customer-facing signs to only be editable by Marketing, and employee-facing screensavers to only be editable by HR).

Selecting Your App

The header of the eScreenz dashboard will contain the name of the App you are currently editing.  To select a new App, click on the App name in the header, and select the app you wish to edit.

Note that if you only have access to edit or view a single app, that app will be selected for you automatically.
